A criadora de Heartstopper, Alice Oseman, falou sobre o que podemos esperar da personagem Isaac na segunda temporada da série de sucesso da Netflix.

Oseman diz que a assexualidade será explorada através da personagem de Isaac (Tobie Donovan) na próxima temporada.

“Sim, a assexualidade será discutida na TV em grande estilo. Estou animada. Espero que mude o mundo”, disse.

E continuou: “Espero que quando isto acontecer no Heartstopper não pareça uma lição. Conhecemos Isaac, importamo-nos com ele e agora vamos aprender algo novo sobre ele.”

Alice Oseman, que se identifica como arromântica assexual (pouca a nenhuma atração sexual e pouca a nenhuma atração romântica), também discutiu como as pessoas permanecem confusas com os termos. “Para a maioria das pessoas, eles são sinónimos. Mas para as pessoas aro/ace, eles podem ser diferentes. Eu sou tanto ace quanto aro.”

Na mesma entrevista, Oseman reagiu também ao coming out forçado do ator bissexual Kit Connor. “Deixou-me com tanta raiva,” explicou. “Preocupo-me tanto com este elenco. Sinto-me como uma figura maternal. O que as pessoas lhe disseram foi tão anti-Heartstopper” disse.
